Outline[]
Beth discusses the fate of the ranch with an unlikely ally; Kayce takes the investigation into his own hands; Jamie looks to advance his political agenda.
Summary[]
In a flashback, mercenaries kill John Dutton and stage his death as a suicide. In the present, Steven Rawlings is sworn in as Governor and begins to undo John's decision-makings, even trying to have Jamie recused from any further investigation involving John's death. Kayce uses his authority to have his father's body re-examined, using his knowledge as a soldier to discovering evidence of foul play to have the case reopened. Rainwater pays a visit to Beth, while Kayce confronts Jamie, who denies any involvement in John's death. When Sarah learns about the case reopening, she begins to panic and has an argument with Jamie before leaving. In her car, Sarah is killed by the very assassins who orchestrated the hit on Dutton.

Notes[]
Episode titles in Yellowstone can often be seen as spoilers without context, as they usually don't make sense until the viewer has seen the episode and has an understanding of everything that went down.
For example, Season 5, Episode 11's title, "Three Fifty-Three," referred to John Dutton's official time of death. In that episode, viewers (and some characters) learned what happened at 3:53 a.m. the night John died.
However, some episode titles are a lot more vague than "Three Fifty-Three." For instance, the Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 premiere was titled "Desire Is All You Need."
That could have referred to Sarah Atwood desiring John to be dead, Market Equities desiring the ranch, Rip still desiring to be a cowboy while in Texas, etc.
