Fred Myers was a former ranch hand for the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch.
Fred butted heads with Jimmy Hurdstram at the start of the show, and despite discovering the Yellowstone Logo branded upon him, he still continued to berate Jimmy. Rip Wheeler had enough of Fred's nonsense and beat some sense into him. When Rip ordered Fred as punishment to clean the stalls, Myers utterly refused, and Rip fired him on the spot. He was escorted off the ranch in a pickup truck by Lloyd Pierce, expecting to head to a train station, during which he further disrespected John Dutton and the ranch, instead he was brought to a canyon at the Wyoming state border in the middle of the night where Lloyd shot him in the head and dumped him and his luggage into the canyon.
